Hahaha Grover, I've been bitching at him for months about that.

The argument is that with gold being weighted so heavily there's never any reason to do anything else on the site. You never need to buy items or hand in sets or try to enchant things because it's not worth it. With that, gold should be rendered almost useless to encourage people to spend it to obtain medallions and complete quests that are actually worth something.

Apparently the way this works now is if you have enough money you'll get to the top. There's never any reason to spend it, do quests or anything at all. u_u

There are some people who join different sites just to get high scores. They don't necessarily stick to the site though so it wouldn't be worth it in that case to give them a bonus. Or those users might go inactive ... I wouldn't think it's a good idea.

But I would LOVE to be able to have the current champ name/avatar displayed beside the games images. I could easily see if I've been replaced on my favorite games and also give users some kind of kokaro "fame".

I had to bitch a lot to make this happen ... it was for the benefit of everyone.

I've never been convinced that the lotto is truly random ...

If someone got high score the first game after it resets, and the score remains undefeated, then you will get the payout for every time a person plays it after that. Score blasting is when I get the minimum score necessary to submit then intentionally die over and over to reset the scores. This is only effective if that minimum score can be achieved in a very short time. The scores reset out of fairness, you've been top long enough give someone else a shot. Regardless as to whether it's "score blasted" or not that person will still get all the money.

That would negate my score blasting to get top score. D;

Now that we have the transmogrifier you can try to make one by transforming "laser" or "cannon" items. :]

You need to know what other items share the same names. I transmogrified something once that didn't share a name with anything else. 

You'd have better odds with laser beam since there's lots of falcons.

Drath told me to write down and share my epic story with everyone about this certain, fantastic NPC.

Sooo the transmogrifier will turn an item into a similar item. For example, I needed a laser cannon to complete my Doom 64 collection. I didn't have any laser things, and only a cannonball and cannonballer (which are one word and doesn't count, I learned that the hard way).

But there is an item called "laser beam" which I didn't have either. I had a wide beam, transmogrified it to laser beam through connection of the word "beam", the first attempt gave me a wide-brim hat. With the laser beam I transmogrified it into laser cannon.

I did something similar with another set, if I'm one item away from getting a collection I would definitely use this guy.

I would like to see: gun, hat, book, fire and fairy items added to the list. I think there's also potential for: cannon, super, red/blue/green and silver/gold. I still like magic, mushroom, sword, potion, banana, heart, bomb and letter.

The schedule for items should be the same for 12am-12pm and 12pm-12am so that everyone has opportunity to complete them. Perhaps they could scramble on a more frequent basis.

I'm in the process of sorting this out again, any input would be appreciated.

You should only get 5 gold per every 200?
I just tested Bejeweled Blitz earning 40 gold with a bonus of 1, it might round up or it might have some degree of random variable.

I don't think I would be willing to sell them though ... having a large quantity of gold is useless to me but the ability to get gold faster when I need it seems more valuable. Perhaps in the future when there are other NPCs with other special abilities I might change me stance. Something like the enchanter but less clumsy and more specific. 

It's a pretty good concept, value by remand, quite realistic I suppose. 

I have such a hard time finding the right times for the quest collector! I totally understand the satisfaction though ...

The thing with that is ... given that you get $100 you get an extra $3, because it has a multiplier of $0.025. I think averagely for game play you get less than $100 gold? I don't make the gold by playing games, I do the item collectors and stuff. At this point the wealth items really suck.

It's already up there, it just doesn't do anything at the moment. 

Nevermind that, I just found the Escape Goat avatar. 

When you have all those items you'll be able to hand in sets and items and get money back anyway. 

I wouldn't be against just making the ranking individual, then I could be "Super Duper Extra Powerful Master Expert of the Whole Universe" or something. Maybe the progress bar should be private as well, not publicly shown. Maybe ranks should be numbers then it would be like leveling up in RPG games, this place is full of quests.

We'll see what Drath thinks, he has a big picture idea of what this is going to be (equipping equipment and player battles, etc).

I don't believe the current ranking system works for individuals. It changes because the users on Kokaro change, your rank is in comparison to others. Like, the leaderboard is a factor in your rank and when I used all my money I went down two ranks.

I'd say they're both worthless enough to not worry about ... there will be a "costume shop" where you can sell avatars in the future. I've been selling doubles, but like if you get the Escape Goat avatar (not cropped) then I'd pay/trade a good amount for it. 

I also spent my 100k so I could enchant items. :>
Which, as you may have noticed, I've been rather successful at.

It would be nice if you got more gold but I think it's equaled out by the medallions having highest weight on the leaderboard.

I know someone had two of them, that sucks sorry - I'm getting satisfied with my medallions so I'll give you something extra when I get it, just lemme know. 

The money will be good for something in the future, but for now it's not worth much - even for leaderboard position. (that's why I spend all money on marketplace, 20k worth of items would have been better)

BUT DON'T WORRY I've totally lost that much when I first learned.

Hmm ... I spend all my money buying things from the marketplace so that I can enchant everything. Of course I also do the quests and collection but I've enchanted like a hundred things the last few days. I feel like I should be starting to run low on items but buying from the marketplace replenishes that.

Yeah they're pretty rare, which is at least good to see that rare items are actually rare now.

Good question Grover ... I will share my logic and planning ...

At the moment the highest weighted thing on the leaderboard is the medallions (collection collector). I've been waiting until just recently for the new avatars to come in so I wouldn't get doubles again when I handed everything in, which was successful. The plan is set into motion.

Overall I personally weight the enchanted items as what I should aim to get most of. At the moment I have 34 enchanted items. In the long run I should get better deals, get more money, better scores, etc. The enchanted items are worth piddly squat though, I'll need tons of them to make a difference. We know that a successful enchantment results in 1/3 loss of money so I spend my money on the market, getting items and losing less money per enchantment. Through the market I've gotten lots of items to help fill my collections as well.

Spend all money on items, get medallions, then enchant everything except one of each thing.

This is counter productive to being #1 on the leaderboard and there's also a very low chance of getting a successful enchantment (I must have lost 1,000 items on it so far). Future changes to the site will probably ruin everything for me.

AND CHUKBOY ... we are both now Adept since I spent everything and our rating is based off group progress, not individual tracking. :>

I know someone has two and I'd be willing to pay 7,500 and throw in a couple items. Or whatever would float your boat. =)

I almost LOL'd, my favorite thread.

Remember that if you successfully enchant it takes a huge percent off your moneys.

I know there are many many higher ranks, and I think the advancement is more a comparative rank than individual (if that makes sense).

I'm just biding my time ...

I love hoarding my items, but an R5 isn't worth it to me, I'll do a favor and put it in for seeker of the rare.

The badges will reset when they're played at most 150 times, I think ideally with some casual plays they'd eventually reset. I've "score blasted" many games to bump someone off, works better the faster a minimum score can be achieved.

The worst thing about inactive players, to me, is that they may be the only one to have a certain item and the seeker of the rare will get stuck on it forever.

I think it's all changed now. :<

They're just random, I don't use them, I'm waiting for a daily wheel spin to win prizes and such.

The reason is because each of those people only have 1 of it, and if you want to turn in a whole set you need every piece - as we can see the item is rare so it's not considered worth it. (I hate it also)

I have started to connect the specific times to each kind of items the item collector collects. If you know of any time I haven't gotten so far I'd appreciate making a note of it (could be valuable to others as well) but especially for those of you who are aware of the hours when I am not awake.

Things that most annoy me is that I need to flip through pages for inventory or games, if I select see all then it only works until I make whatever action then need to again (enchanter) and that the next / back pages buttons are at the bottom.

Like anything that requires more than 5 pages should probably have a < 1 2 3 4 5 > at the top of that page.

Sometimes the combo of items and their enchanted properties can be kind of funny, share yours here ...

the website is designed to function for the majority, and the majority of people do not have such a large desktop size.

I don't think it makes very much sense and would be complicated. Like, if I have a candle, why isn't the candle just in my bag?

It could be like, *open inventory, select mask, put on.
Walk down the street, scare little children, take their candy and run away. But if you didn't have the mask, then you would just get caught after.

I personally just don't like text games, either. Since it's more of one of those "choose your destiny!" Alone in the Dark books I read in grade 3, and less of an actual game.

I would say work more on the whole equipment thing you started, then you can do old-school neopet-style battles which were broken and made no sense.

Since I have like over 300 items (pfft) I need to view all, then enchant, then I need to view all again. It should just stay as view all or however sorted after enchanting happens.

I think a librarian is an excellent idea, drath and I just differ on what would be more exciting:

1. Seeing all the items of a set and trying to find them.
2. Being blind as to what you're missing so you feel more accomplished when you find it.

I think the overall design needs some tweaking, but the prioritizing of the information is making it more convenient for myself, I'll try to look into how other similar sites are layed out.

In order to balance the payout (some games don't pay as well as others) we need some information, specifically, times and scores for each game - at least three.
